Vacancy – Technical Officer

About Team CORE

Team CORE is an official student team of the TU/e. We focus on enabling the recycling of waste streams that are hard to process, like batteries, car waste and fly-ash. For this we use elementary retraction, a technology based on our own planet, that brings the waste back into its elementary state. Apart from designing and testing this technology we are also heavily involved in setting up actual factories where our technology is used. Together with CORE Chemistry we are setting up a factory in the north of the Netherlands in Delfzijl and are currently taking our first steps in Moerdijk, Duiven and Amsterdam.

What does the job imply?

Changing the world requires technology, we need new ways to deal with waste and for that innovations are needed. Within the team, we developed our test oven, battery shredder, and wood recycling machine. But we are not there yet, we still need to retract the precious metals from the shredder residual, we need new ovens and we need to improve our current setup. In the team, these projects will be your responsibility, together with the other technical members. You are responsible for clear work plannings, talking to the technical partners, and defining the sub-tasks of all projects.

Next to this, you will be involved in bridging the lab-scale technology to the factory level. By sitting together with CORE Chemistry and our partners.
